Children & Youth Programs
TEEN CAFE: A night of music, games, and snacks for all teens ages 14 through 20. Meet some new friends and have a chance to socialize with your peers. Friends from Raritan Valley Community College will join them for the party. Held one Friday per month from 7:00pm-9:00pm at The Arc's Community Room in the admin office--call to sign up for the next event. RSVP at least 24 hours prior to the event. This event is open to ALL teens and registration with DCF or DDD is NOT required.
SPECIAL SITTERS TRAINING: The Special Sitters training is a two day educational opportunity for teens who wish to become sitters for children with special needs. Participants learn communication skills, how to interact positively with parents, awareness of various disabilities, creative thinking for play, as well as First Aid and CPR (children and infant) certified. The training is offered twice annually. Sitter’s names are kept on a roster available to parents upon request. This event is open to ALL teens and registration with DCF or DDD is NOT required.
PB FUN CLUB: A respite program for children ages 7-18. We meet in Kingwood Township every Saturday from 10am to 3pm. Some of our programs are in-house activities, while others take us to various places in the community. It is a great way to have fun with friends. Every month we have a sleepover from Saturday in to Sunday; always promising a great time. *DCF/Perform Care registration is required for this program.
